Can I cook an 11 lb turkey half way, then put it in the refrigerator and finish cooking it the following day?

I have been cooking a lot as a hobby and my parents desire me to cook my first turkey this year. I plan on doing more reading because I am a bit of a perfectionist. Anyway, lay it on me!
Tell me everything you can, from spices, to baking vs. frying, and even some complimentary dishes.

I was told I could cook a turkey in the dishwasher if I use only the heat cycle. I also learned that something called jet-dri would keep it from getting to damp or wet. Is this true?

I have to travel between San Jose and Gilroy and don’t know if I should cook the turkey then transport it, or should I partially cook it, travel and resume cooking at my destination. Not enough time to cook enitre time at destination.
