I was planning on cooking turkey (obviously) but I was wondering if there were ways to make the foods we all love for Thanksgiving in a healthy way, maybe cook them differently or replace some ingredients to make them healthier. I would love to have stuffing, mashed popatoes, yams, vegetables and the like but would be open to substituting them for different foods. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Happy holidays and happy halloween

I’m 17 and last year I lost 56 lbs, from 246 to 190 - yay! but after thanksgiving and christmas (and today’s superbowl snacking) I haven’t really seen much progress(or should I say…reverse progress) and my exercise routine has dimmed to nothing. So I guess it’s time for me to get back on the grind and whiddle myself down to 170(my goal is 180, but I want to hit 170 first, then gain 10 in muscle).
But to my question - I need to learn how to cook healthier meals if I’m going to sustain my dream body, so does anyone know where I can go to not only get good, healthy recipes, but to actually learn how to cook them? I’ve absolutely no cooking experience more advanced than pancakes that turned out horrible. So yeah…any advice would be helpful, Im not looking for the best of meals, but some simple stuff that I can put together myself in the kitchen before the parents get home to make the family’s meal. Hopefully lowfat, high in protein?

Has anyone tried cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in the microwave, using your convection setting? I want to clear up my oven for other side dishes, so I wanted to know if using the convection function for the turkey would work. Any tips?
