cut into cubes 1 loaf of good hard crusted french bread you can use regular bread if desire i dry mine loaf bread a week….the french bread will dry out in oven easily……to this add 1 cup sauteed shallots and 1 cup celery (onion can sub for shallots…then to this mixture add about 1 qt but add at stages and mix try not to mash up bread…you need 3 tbp poultry seasoning and 1/4 cup fresh chopped sage………and 1/2 cup melted buter and 1 beaten egg…..salt and pepper to taste…..this would be enogh to stuff a 14 lb turkey and feed about 6 people if you need more double and stuuf bird with some and bake the rest in dish until nice and brown on top put in oven with turkey for last 1 hr …if it looks a little dry add some juice from the turkey pan it will enhance the flavor…..it you would want oyster dressing just add a cup of chopped fresh oysters and the juice …….canned oyster will work…..if you want cornbread dressing do 1/2 bread 1/2 cornbread…………you can also add chopped apples for a change to the bread dressing with some walnuts every thing else is still the same you are just adding things…….

Just buy some box stuffing and to make it taste even better when you stuff your bird buy Reynolds Roasting bags and place your bird with the stuffing inside and pour your basting over the top and tie it off and let it cook itself and your meat will be tender and falling off the bone. Everyone will want to know your sercet.
