Sounds like us. We get together with family for large meals sometimes even overnight guests. Here is article developed from that life experience of over 30 years.

If you are going to cook for a group of people decide ahead of time HOW you are going to do it and what you can serve that is fairly easy in preparation

Good luck.
References :
no it sounds like the beginning of a great cooking club!

Edit
I would say to get started, get together a group of your friends who also love to cook ( even if they are beginners it can be fun )
Pick someone for a designated week and they cook all, or do a pot luck, so that everyone brings something that co-ordinates with the dinner. Then everyone takes part.
BUT make this a one time a month thing. People are busy and you don't want to stress them as well as yourself. The goal is to have fun! Let me know how it goes!
